Volunteer Terms & Conditions

Counseling Connections for Change, Inc.

Please read the following terms carefully. By signing up to volunteer, you acknowledge and agree to the conditions outlined below.

1. Volunteer Role & Scope

• I understand that I am serving as a volunteer and not as an employee, contractor, or agent of Counseling Connections for Change, Inc.
• I agree to perform only the tasks assigned to me and to follow all guidance provided by staff.
• I agree to be reliable and honor the schedule or commitment I have made.
• If I am unable to attend or fulfill my role, I will notify the appropriate staff member as soon as possible.
• I agree to remain within my assigned role and designated areas unless directed otherwise by staff.

2. Confidentiality & Privacy

• I understand that I may come into contact with sensitive or confidential information, including personal or health-related information.
• I agree to keep all such information strictly confidential, both during and after my volunteer service.
• I will not share, record, or disclose any identifying information about clients, participants, or staff.
• I understand that confidentiality expectations align with general HIPAA awareness standards, even if I am not directly subject to HIPAA regulations.

3. Code of Conduct

• I agree to act in a respectful, professional, and ethical manner at all times.
• I will maintain appropriate boundaries with clients, participants, staff, and other volunteers.
• I understand that harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
• I will follow all organizational policies, instructions, and expectations.

4. Health & Safety

• I will report any injuries, incidents, or unsafe conditions to staff immediately.
• I understand that my participation should not place myself or others at risk.

5. Media, Photos & Representation

• I understand that photos or videos may be taken during volunteer activities.
• I grant permission for my likeness to be used for organizational purposes (e.g., marketing, social media), unless I notify the organization otherwise in writing.
• I agree not to represent myself as a spokesperson for the organization without prior authorization.

6. Liability & Assumption of Risk

• I understand that volunteering may involve certain risks.
• I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation.
• I understand that vehicles on display are private property and may be valuable.
• I agree to not touch, lean on, enter, or interact with any vehicles unless explicitly authorized.
• I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own personal belongings and that the organization is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to release and hold harmless Counseling Connections for Change, Inc., its staff, and affiliates from liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from my volunteer activities.
