Our Christian Identity & Faith Foundation
Counseling Connections for Change, Inc. is a Christ-centered ministry called to inspire hope while advancing mental health and wellness through faith-based counseling, education, and collaboration. Rooted in the historic, orthodox Christian faith, we affirm the essential truths of Scripture concerning God, salvation, and the sacred value of every human life. While our core identity is anchored in these Christian convictions, we provide professional behavioral healthcare that meets the highest clinical, ethical, and legal standards.
A Safe, Welcoming Space for All
As an expression of Christ’s love, we are called to love God wholeheartedly and love others sacrificially through compassionate care, advocacy, and community service while maintaining appropriate clinical, ethical, and legal boundaries.
In the spirit of Christian hospitality and in full alignment with civil rights laws, all counseling programs and social services are open to everyone. We serve all eligible individuals without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, socioeconomic status, personal history, or any other protected class under applicable law. Receiving care is never conditioned upon adopting, professing, or participating in any religious belief or practice.
What Do We Mean by Whole-Person Restoration?
We believe God’s redemptive care encompasses the whole person—spiritually, emotionally, relationally, psychologically, physically, and socially. Human flourishing is best realized when clinically excellent care honors both biblical truth and responsible scientific inquiry.
- Faith & Science in Harmony: Truth revealed through God’s creation and sound scientific inquiry contributes to a deeper understanding of human well-being. We provide evidence-based behavioral healthcare practices informed by a compassionate Christian worldview.
- Client Autonomy & Dignity: Reflecting Christ’s respect for human agency, every individual is treated with profound respect, compassion, and care. Services are delivered with complete respect for each client’s dignity, culture, personal values, informed consent, and right to participate fully in treatment decisions.
- Voluntary Faith Integration: Faith-integrated counseling, spiritual interventions, or religious discussions are incorporated into clinical care only when clinically appropriate, ethically permissible, and voluntarily desired by the client.
Our Core Christian Beliefs
- God: We believe in one eternal, sovereign, and holy God, existing eternally in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the loving Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinite in grace, justice, mercy, and truth.
- Jesus Christ: We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the sacrifice for human sin, was bodily raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return in power and glory. Through Him alone, humanity finds true reconciliation with God.
- The Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God, actively present in the world and in the lives of believers. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, indwells, sanctifies, equips, comforts, guides, and empowers believers for faithful living, Christian service, spiritual growth, and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
- Holy Scripture: We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture serves as the supreme and final authority for our faith, moral convictions, and ministry governance
- Humanity: We believe every person is intentionally created in the image of God (Imago Dei) and therefore possesses inherent dignity, immeasurable worth, and sacred value. We are committed to treating every individual with compassion, dignity, respect, justice, and love—reflecting both biblical truth regarding the Imago Dei and the compassion of Christ.
- Salvation: We believe humanity’s greatest need is reconciliation with God. Salvation is made possible solely through the grace of God and is received through faith in Jesus Christ. Through Christ, believers receive forgiveness, reconciliation with God, new life through the Holy Spirit, and the promise of eternal life.
- The Church & Collaborative Care: We believe the Church is the universal body of believers united in Jesus Christ. We recognize our distinct and complementary roles alongside churches, healthcare providers, and community partners in promoting hope, healing, resilience, and human flourishing.
