Holly Gilmer
I am a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I have spent over 13 years working in education, and through that experience, I began to recognize a growing need for mental health support among both students and families. This realization led me to become a student once again as I pursue my master’s degree in counseling at Lamar University.
My approach to counseling is client-centered, prioritizing a collaborative relationship in which clients feel empowered, respected, and heard. I draw from a variety of evidence-based practices, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), to support clients in identifying strengths, building effective coping strategies, and working toward meaningful and achievable goals.
Outside of my professional life, I am married and have two young daughters who keep me very busy. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, shopping, and cheering on the Texas A&M Aggies.
