About Counseling Connections for Change

Counseling Connections for Change, Inc. (CC4C) is a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to providing accessible, compassionate, and clinically excellent mental health care to individuals and families across the Greater Houston area. Our mission is to bring hope, healing, and restoration through counseling that integrates professional evidence-based practices with a foundation of Christian values.

We proudly serve clients across all walks of life—addressing a wide spectrum of mental health needs through individual, group, and family counseling. Our programs are designed to meet the community where they are, ensuring that no one walks through life’s challenges alone.


About the Hope Institute Internship Program

Counseling Connections for Change offers a structured clinical internship experience for second-year graduate students pursuing master’s degrees in counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy. Our program equips interns with the skills and supervision necessary to grow into competent, ethical, and compassionate clinicians. Interns receive extensive hands-on training in areas such as:

  • Individual and group counseling
  • Play therapy and adolescent interventions
  • Trauma-informed and strengths-based care
  • Faith integration in clinical practice

Interns will participate in weekly individual and group supervision, case consultations, and professional development opportunities. Placement requires 24 hours per week on-site, including mandatory attendance on Thursdays for staffing and supervision.


Internship Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Submit a completed internship application for review
  • Successfully pass a background check and drug screening
  • Attend mandatory onboarding training (scheduled for Spring 2026)
  • Complete Safeguarding God’s Children or equivalent training
  • Be available to work on-site (full remote placement is not available)
  • Commit to agreed upon set hours per week, primarily during weekday office hours (9am–7pm)
  • Facilitate at least one evening group session per week
