We Believe Mental Health Matters!
I am currently a student at Abilene Christian University, pursuing a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University. I have worked in the educational system for the last ten years and I am a firm believer in creating healthy and positive relationships with children and their families, as well as their communities. I have experience working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them work towards their goals of total inclusion in classroom settings. I desire to work with children, youth, families, couples, and individuals. I believe that with the right resources and support, our systems can change in a positive way.
Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to help others and was drawn to the counseling field. As a Christian, I believe that this God’s calling for me. I grew up in a multi-religious and multi-ethnic family, so I am comfortable working with individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds.
Upon graduation, I plan on becoming licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I would also like to become a Registered Play Therapist and continue working with youth, individuals, and families. My goals in therapy are to create a safe, non-judgmental, and loving environment and to help clients feel heard and understood.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, baking, reading, listening to music, and traveling.
