Bianca Gaytan-Dyer

Clinical Intern

Hi, my name is Bianca Gaytan-Dyer, and I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Human Nutrition & Fitness, and I’m proud to say that I’m a first-generation college student. Currently, I attend Houston Christian University, where I’m pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. For the past two years, I’ve participated as a fundraiser for Counseling Connections for Change, Inc. as a Houston Marathon participant, and I’m so excited to join the team as a Clinical Intern in 2023.

In the past three years since graduating from The University of Houston, I’ve been employed by a Non-Profit where we serve many Hispanic people in Houston’s East End. Through this job, I was given the opportunity to see how social factors come into play in a person’s overall well-being. I’ve had the privilege to address food insecurity, employment, housing, and other social determinants of health that impact so many people in Houston. Although I’ve always been passionate about Mental Health, having struggled with anxiety myself and seeing my family impacted by it, this work further ignited my passion to pursue further education. Upon licensure, I hope to work with individuals who may be struggling with Depression, Anxiety, and other mental health issues.

In my free time, I love to spend time with my family. My husband and I enjoy taking our son to the park, where we typically walk and run. I also love to learn new things, so you can find me reading or attending new conferences. When I have the time, I also love binge watching a good show on Netflix!
