We Believe Mental Health Matters!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern (LPC-I) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I am also a professional member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and the Texas Counseling Association (TCA). I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Biblical Studies and a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
During my practicum counseling program, I have worked with individuals and groups on issues such as women’s issues, older adults, grief and loss, suicide, physical and sexual abuse, and pre-marital counseling. My multicultural upbringing and ability to speak English and Spanish fluently, have given me the opportunity to work with the Hispanic population struggling with a wide range of issues such as marital problems, domestic violence, suicide, parenting, physical and sexual abuse, women’s issues, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), infertility, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, and self-esteem.
As a Christian, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I am able to incorporate Biblical principles and counseling skills by collaborating and equipping clients to find healing, transformation and restoration to live a full and healthy life. I believe through daily struggles, God works to transform lives, and to bring about ultimate purpose in individuals’ lives (Romans 5:3-5). It has been a privilege and a blessing to see what happens when individuals allow Christ to renew their mind, body, and soul.
I was born and raised in Honduras, then came to the United States when I was 15 years old. I have lived in Houston for 36 years. I became a Christian at 25 years of age. I have been a member of Christ the King Presbyterian Church for 6 years. I enjoy reading, traveling with my husband, teaching, working-out, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
